Udinese is proving to be very active in the transfer market. Reports indicate they have finalized an agreement for Unai Gomez from Athletic Club, with a deal valued at €4.5 million, and have also secured the services of free agent Omar Haktab Traoré.
Numerous sources had previously suggested that a deal for Unai Gomez, a 23-year-old creative midfielder who is a product of Athletic Club’s youth academy, was imminent. Transfer expert Matteo Moretto and Marca confirm that an agreement has now been reached for €4.5 million plus potential bonuses. Gomez is expected to undergo medical examinations over the weekend.
Adding to their roster, Sky Sport Italia reports that Udinese has also acquired Omar Haktab Traoré on a free transfer. Traoré’s contract with Heidenheim recently expired, making him available to sign with a new club. The 28-year-old right-back, who is also capable of playing in a more advanced position, had previously been linked with a move to Championship club Watford.
However, Udinese has successfully agreed personal terms with the German defender. Last season, Traoré made 27 appearances across all competitions for Heidenheim, contributing two assists from his right-back position. The club also appears to be close to finalizing a deal for Giorgi Chakvetadze from Watford.
