Fiorentina is reportedly set to hold discussions with Sassuolo tomorrow concerning the potential transfer of midfielder Kristian Thorstvedt. This move could see him reunite with coach Fabio Grosso, although Besiktas has also expressed interest.
The Norwegian international is currently focused on the World Cup, preparing for his country’s Round of 16 match against Brazil.
Thorstvedt has performed well at Sassuolo under Grosso’s guidance. Following Grosso’s departure for a new challenge at Fiorentina, a reunion this season is a distinct possibility.
Fiorentina’s Pursuit of Thorstvedt
Sources from Sky Sport Italia and Tuttomercatoweb confirm a meeting is scheduled for Friday between Sassuolo and Fiorentina to negotiate the transfer details.
Fiorentina’s director, Fabio Paratici, has already held preliminary talks with Thorstvedt’s agent regarding personal terms. The primary hurdle now is for the two clubs to reach a financial agreement.
Sassuolo’s asking price for Thorstvedt is believed to be around €15 million. However, Fiorentina may aim to lower this fee by proposing the inclusion of midfielder Simon Sohm in a player-plus-cash deal. Sohm has recently returned to Florence after a loan spell at Bologna.
