Milan Enters the Fray for Lazio’s Mario Gila

AC Milan has reportedly emerged as a contender in the pursuit of Lazio defender Mario Gila. Gila is already attracting interest from Napoli, Atalanta, and Inter Milan, with Lazio reportedly valuing him at over €25 million.

The centre-back’s contract with Lazio is set to expire next summer, and with no ongoing negotiations for an extension, his departure appears likely. Lazio is aiming to secure a substantial fee for Gila, especially considering they still owe Real Madrid a percentage of the transfer fee from his move for just €6 million in 2022.

Several Clubs Vie for Gila’s Signature

Napoli has shown the most significant interest to date, with incoming coach Max Allegri reportedly making a specific request for the player. However, Tuttomercatoweb now suggests that AC Milan has reignited its interest in the defender, who will celebrate his 26th birthday next month.

This is not the first time Milan has been linked with Gila, but their pursuit appears to have been revitalized. Notably, Napoli’s ability to sign Gila is contingent on them first completing another player sale.

Atalanta remains in contention for Gila, where he could potentially reunite with former Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri. Inter Milan is also known to be actively seeking defensive reinforcements.
