Two Serie A Stars Included in Argentina’s 2026 World Cup Squad

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez and Como’s Nico Paz are among the Serie A talents selected for Argentina’s national team in the 2026 World Cup. The Argentine Football Federation has officially announced the squad for the tournament, featuring Paz, recognized as the best Serie A midfielder for the 2025-26 season, and Lautaro, who has been the leading scorer and best striker in Italy’s top flight this term.

While Lautaro Martinez is a seasoned World Cup winner, having lifted the trophy four years ago, 21-year-old Nico Paz is set to make his debut in the competition.

Nico Paz has already represented Argentina at the senior level since 2024, contributing one goal in eight appearances for his country. Additionally, Juventus-owned Nico Gonzalez, a 24-year-old forward, is part of the squad, though he spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Atletico Madrid. The Argentine roster also includes several other former Serie A players, such as Juan Musso, Nahuel Molina, Cristian Romero, Leandro Paredes, and Rodrigo De Paul.
