Fabio Paratici, who only recently took on the role at Fiorentina in February, is reportedly being pursued by AC Milan to become their new Director of Sport. This interest comes in the wake of a significant shake-up within the Rossoneri’s hierarchy after they failed to secure a Champions League qualification spot.
Following the disappointment, coach Max Allegri, CEO Giorgio Furlani, Director of Sport Igli Tare, and Technical Director Geoffrey Moncada were all dismissed in a single official statement. While Andoni Areola and Xavi have been linked with the coaching position, the club’s immediate priority is to appoint a new Director of Sport to spearhead their transfer strategy.
Paratici Emerges as Milan’s Top Choice
Multiple sources, including MilanPress, Calciomercato expert Daniele Longo, and Matteo Moretto, indicate that Paratici is the primary candidate for the position. It is understood that Zlatan Ibrahimović, a special advisor for Milan, has directly contacted Paratici to gauge his availability.
Paratici joined Fiorentina in February after departing from Tottenham Hotspur. Prior to his spell in London, he served as the Sporting Director at Juventus from 2010 to 2021. During his tenure at Juventus, certain accounting practices related to player sales led to the club being fined and points deducted.
Paratici had previously been suspended from all football-related activities for 30 months in April 2023, returning to club duties in October 2025. The potential for an extended ban had previously caused Milan to withdraw a job offer to Paratici in April 2025.
Another individual considered for the role was Atalanta’s current director, Tony D’Amico. However, reports suggest he is more likely to join Roma. Atalanta, in turn, is expected to replace D’Amico with former Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli.
