Atletico Madrid has entered negotiations for Nicolò Tresoldi, a promising young player with ties to Italy. Reports from Sportitalia suggest the Spanish club is preparing a €30 million bid to acquire the forward from Club Brugge.
The 21-year-old striker, who will celebrate his 22nd birthday next month, is eligible to represent either Italy or Germany. Born in Cagliari, Italy, Tresoldi moved to Germany with his family at a young age.
Tresoldi: A Potential Star for the Italian National Team
While Tresoldi has played for Germany at various youth levels, notably scoring 12 goals in 24 appearances for the Under-21 team, he has yet to make a definitive choice regarding his senior international allegiance.
It’s possible the new Italian national team coach could consider Tresoldi for the upcoming Nations League matches in September.
Sportitalia also indicates that Atletico Madrid has initiated discussions with Tresoldi and his representatives, aiming to secure the talented player from Club Brugge.
Tresoldi joined Club Brugge a year ago from Hannover 96 for €7.5 million. He has since made a significant impact, netting 23 goals and providing nine assists in 58 competitive matches.
Consequently, any club looking to sign him would likely need to offer a fee of at least €30 million. Other clubs previously linked with Tresoldi include Como, Bayer Leverkusen, Milan, and Arsenal.
