Moise Kean is set to be absent from Fiorentina’s upcoming Serie A fixture against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico this weekend. While the Italian international has been sidelined for the last three matches due to injury, reports confirm he has received permission to skip this game for personal reasons.
Reason for Kean’s Absence
Kean and his partner are expecting the arrival of their second child in the coming days. According to updates from Violanews.com, the Fiorentina forward has been granted leave to be at home for the next few days. Kean is expected to be away from the squad between May 1st and May 4th.
During his absence, Kean will also continue his rehabilitation program to recover from the physical issues that have prevented him from participating in his team’s last three Serie A encounters. Fiorentina has secured victories against Lazio (1-0) and drawn with Lecce (1-1) and Sassuolo (0-0) in Kean’s recent absence. Under coach Paolo Vanoli, the team is currently on a seven-match unbeaten streak in the league, marking a significant turnaround after a challenging first half of the 2025-26 season.
Roberto Piccoli served as Fiorentina’s primary replacement for Kean in the first two games of his recent layoff. However, with Piccoli also unavailable for the most recent 0-0 draw against Sassuolo, Albert Gudmundsson was given the starting center-forward position.
