According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool is unwilling to lower their €30 million asking price for Curtis Jones. However, Inter Milan remains confident in their ability to reach an agreement with the English club, as the player himself is keen on a move to San Siro.
Inter continues to actively pursue the signing of Liverpool midfielder Jones and expresses optimism about finalizing a deal with the Reds in the coming days.
Earlier this week, Inter reportedly submitted an initial offer of €20 million for the 25-year-old. Liverpool, however, continues to demand €30 million along with a sell-on clause. The Nerazzurri are reportedly working diligently to conclude the transfer promptly, aiming for Jones to participate in pre-season training under Cristian Chivu, which begins in less than a month.
Jones’ contract is set to expire in a year, which reportedly bolsters Inter’s confidence that Liverpool will eventually reduce their valuation. Gazzetta claims that Jones has expressed a desire to join Inter this summer.
The Italian publication also notes that the Nerazzurri have continued discussions with Udinese regarding Oumar Solet, with the intention of bringing the 26-year-old to San Siro in time for the start of pre-season.
Inter is also on the verge of completing their first summer signing, finalizing negotiations with Atalanta for Marco Palestra in a deal reportedly exceeding €50 million.
