Grumpy’s Gauntlet Statue Inaugurated at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course

Grumpy's Gauntlet Statue

Walt Disney Golf has introduced a new statue of the beloved character Grumpy. This iconic figure now stands at the entrance to a recently redesigned section of Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, which has been affectionately named “Grumpy’s Gauntlet.”

The statue, inspired by Grumpy from the classic film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” is positioned near the tee box of the 14th hole. This marks the beginning of a challenging four-hole stretch, comprising holes 15, 16, and 17. This demanding sequence of finishing holes offers a formidable test for even the most skilled golfers.

Adding a charming detail, Grumpy’s golf bag includes a seven-iron, a tribute to all the dwarfs, and a replica golf ball. This ball features the exact dimple pattern from 1937, the year “Snow White” was released.

Standing approximately six feet tall and meticulously crafted from Carrara marble by Walt Disney Imagineering, the statue was brought to life using an AI-powered stone-carving robot. It portrays Grumpy with his signature scowl, perched atop a rock, and features his memorable movie quote: “Mark my words, there’s trouble a-brewin’!”

This new addition is expected to become a popular spot for golfers to capture memorable photos during their back nine play.

In conjunction with the statue’s unveiling, “Grumpy’s Gauntlet” merchandise is now available at the Magnolia pro shop. The collection includes branded shirts, hats, and various other golf-themed accessories and collectibles.

The Grumpy statue and associated merchandise are part of the ongoing enhancements at the Magnolia Golf Course, a venue with a storied past that has hosted numerous golf legends. These updates align with the whimsical Disney storytelling that is woven throughout the course’s design.

Operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management since 2011, Walt Disney World Golf has been recognized by the National Golf Course Owners Association as the 2026 Resort Course of the Year, with Disney’s Magnolia leading the way.

Nearby, Disney’s Palm Golf Course offers a slightly shorter but equally strategic golfing experience.

For those seeking a more relaxed pace, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course provides a scenic layout that has also hosted significant events. This course is currently undergoing renovations and is slated to reopen later this year. The pro shop remains open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If time is limited or you’re playing with family, Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is an excellent choice. This 9-hole, walking-only course is perfect for quicker rounds and skill development. It’s also part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, offering opportunities to observe local wildlife.

Oak Trail adds a unique element with FootGolf offered several afternoons a week. This hybrid sport combines soccer and golf, where players kick a soccer ball into oversized holes. It’s a casual, fast-paced, and surprisingly competitive activity, ideal for groups.

Golfers won’t want to miss the chance to test their skills on “The Greatest Green Ever Played.” Launched in 2024, this 18-hole putting course is accessible to all guests. It pays homage to the remarkable 1913 U.S. Open victory of amateur Francis Ouimet, as depicted in the Walt Disney Pictures film “The Greatest Game Ever Played” (2005).

While golf might not be the immediate association with a destination built on imagination, for those who play here, it becomes evident that the magic extends to what is now known as “The Happiest Place on Turf!”
