According to recent reports, four Serie A stars are expected to be included in the France squad for the 2026 World Cup. These players are Mike Maignan, Marcus Thuram, Adrien Rabiot, and Manu Koné. However, the selection is also noted for excluding several other players who play in the Italian league and had hoped for a call-up.
Coach Didier Deschamps is anticipated to reveal his final squad for the tournament, which is set to be jointly hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico next month.
RMC Sport has compiled a projected squad list for the competition, which prominently features four individuals from Serie A. These include Milan’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan, Inter’s striker Marcus Thuram, Milan’s midfielder Adrien Rabiot, and Roma’s player Manu Koné.
This reported selection implies that several other Serie A representatives, who were hoping to be part of the French squad traveling to North America, will not be included. Among those expected to miss out are Marcus Thuram’s younger brother, Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram, and his Juventus teammate Pierre Kalulu.
Additionally, Milan’s Youssouf Fofana and his Rossoneri teammate, striker Christopher Nkunku, are not expected to make the cut.
