Ahead of the Coppa Italia Final, Inter Milan fans have directed mockery at their city rivals, AC Milan, by displaying a banner targeting their under-pressure CEO, Giorgio Furlani. This comes as over 50,000 supporters have signed a petition calling for Furlani’s dismissal.
The Coppa Italia Final, featuring Lazio and Inter, is scheduled to commence at 20:00 UK time (21:00 CEST) at the Stadio Olimpico.
As Inter supporters gathered at the stadium, they also directed their attention towards their fierce rivals, AC Milan, who suffered defeat in the Final last season to Bologna. A banner was visible that read: “Giorgio Furlani, stay with us!”
This sentiment stems from the frustration of AC Milan fans towards their CEO. They are reportedly hoping for his termination and have initiated a petition to pressure the club into removing him. The petition has reportedly surpassed 50,000 signatures, potentially prompting RedBird Capital Partners, the club’s majority shareholder, and patron Gerry Cardinale to consider action.
