Dodo: Inter’s Top Choice After Palestra Miss, Napoli Also Interested

Inter Milan is reportedly targeting Fiorentina’s right-back Dodo as a primary option after being outbid by Chelsea for Marco Palestra. Napoli is also showing interest in the Brazilian defender.

Inter had agreed to a €45 million deal, with potential add-ons totaling €5 million, to acquire Palestra from Atalanta. However, Chelsea significantly surpassed this offer, reportedly paying €60 million including bonuses, to secure the player.

Dodo on Inter and Napoli’s Radar

With their initial target secured by another club, Inter is now exploring alternative solutions. According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, the most probable candidate for Inter is currently playing in Serie A.

Dodo’s current contract with Fiorentina extends until June 2027, and contract renewal negotiations have encountered difficulties. This situation has led to a reported price tag of approximately €15 million for the player, a considerably lower figure than that for Palestra.

Inter is not the sole club vying for Dodo’s signature; Napoli, under the management of Max Allegri, also views him as a potential acquisition. However, Dodo is considered a secondary option for Napoli, with Anan Khalaili of Union Saint-Gilloise being their preferred choice.

The 27-year-old Brazilian joined Fiorentina from Shakhtar Donetsk for €15.4 million in 2022. In the current season, he has contributed two goals and three assists in 47 appearances for Fiorentina.
