Milan attacker Christian Pulisic has finally broken his goal drought for 2026. He contributed a goal and an assist in the opening 20 minutes of the USA’s friendly match against Senegal, which concluded on Sunday evening with a victory for the US.
The former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund player had a strong start to the 2025-26 season, scoring four goals in his first five appearances and reaching eight goals by the end of December.
However, he then experienced a dry spell of 19 Serie A matches and two international fixtures without scoring. This period coincided with AC Milan missing out on Champions League qualification on the final weekend of the season.
Pulisic has now ended this scoreless streak by netting the second goal in the United States’ eventual 3-2 victory over Senegal in Charlotte, North Carolina. This match is part of Mauricio Pochettino’s team’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
The 26-year-old skillfully rounded Senegal’s goalkeeper Mory Diaw and slotted the ball into an empty net from close range. Pulisic had also provided the assist for Sergino Dest’s opening goal just six minutes into the game.
