Ederson Transfer to Manchester United: Details Emerging, Price Tag Discrepancies Noted

Manchester United is believed to be in the final stages of securing the transfer of Ederson from Atalanta. However, conflicting reports have emerged regarding the agreed-upon transfer fee. While some sources indicate a total cost of €40-45 million, others suggest a higher figure closer to €48-50 million, inclusive of performance-related bonuses.

The agreement for the Brazilian player to move to Old Trafford is considered a certainty, particularly after Manchester United matched the personal terms previously agreed upon with Atletico Madrid. Crucially, Manchester United appears willing to offer a higher transfer fee to Atalanta than Atletico Madrid was prepared to commit.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester United anticipates finalizing the deal for a total sum of €40-45 million. This figure contrasts with the majority of other Italian media outlets, which are confident that the final cost, including add-ons, will fall within the €48-50 million range.

Reputable sources such as Alfredo Pedullà and Tuttomercatoweb, among others, generally believe the transfer fee will be €45 million plus performance-based bonuses. This represents a discount from Atalanta’s initial asking price of €50 million. Considering Atalanta acquired Ederson for €22.9 million from Salernitana in the summer of 2022, this potential sale would represent a substantial profit.

Atalanta had previously sought a significantly higher fee for the player. However, their increased willingness to negotiate this time is attributed to Ederson’s contract expiring in June 2027. The Brazilian international is set to celebrate his 27th birthday in July.

Ederson Price Tag Reports Differ

Reports concerning the price tag for Ederson are currently inconsistent, with various outlets presenting different figures for the potential transfer to Manchester United.
