AC Milan in Crisis: Reporter Fears “Worst is Yet to Come” Amidst Club Overhaul

A journalist who met with AC Milan’s owner, Gerry Cardinale, has issued a stark warning, stating that the club’s ongoing restructuring is far from over and “the worst is yet to come.” Reports suggest the club is in such disarray that it faces the risk of missing the crucial Serie A registration deadline.

Following their failure to qualify for the Champions League, RedBird’s chief, Gerry Cardinale, initiated a sweeping change, dismissing coach Max Allegri, sporting director Igli Tare, CEO Giorgio Furlani, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada in a single move. As of now, none of these key positions have been filled, leaving the club without leadership capable of making decisions or even organizing basic pre-season preparations.

AC Milan: A Ship Adrift Without a Crew

According to a report by Corriere della Sera, the situation has become so unusual that the Lega Serie A felt compelled to issue a warning. AC Milan has a deadline of June 16 to submit the necessary paperwork to register for the upcoming season. Failure to do so could result in expulsion from the league, though this typically stems from financial discrepancies rather than simply missing a filing deadline.

Last week, RedBird owner Gerry Cardinale reportedly convened a meeting with a select group of journalists to articulate his vision for the club’s future. While this was widely perceived as an attempt to garner more favorable media coverage, it appears to have backfired, with one participant delivering a sobering message to fans.

“If we hadn’t gone to speak with him, we wouldn’t have known what this guy had in mind,” revealed Franco Ordine, a journalist for Sport Mediaset. “Now we know, and I can say the worst is yet to come. They don’t want Italians because they have to speak English. They also don’t need to know Italian football.” Ordine added, “Given that there is hardly any money, because they are out of the Champions League, I would do something crazy and go hire Alberto Aquilani.”

Alberto Aquilani is fresh from guiding Catanzaro to the Serie B promotion play-off final, where they narrowly lost to Monza.

AC Milan in Chaos: Reporter Warns “Worst is Yet to Come” Amidst Club Overhaul

A reporter who met with owner Gerry Cardinale has warned that “the worst is yet to come” from AC Milan’s restructuring efforts. Reports indicate the club is in such disarray that it risks missing the Serie A deadline for registration.

Following their failure to qualify for the Champions League, RedBird chief Gerry Cardinale made sweeping changes, dismissing coach Max Allegri, sporting director Igli Tare, CEO Giorgio Furlani, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada in one go. None of these positions have been filled yet, leaving the club without anyone able to make decisions or even organize at a basic level heading into pre-season.

AC Milan: A Rudderless Ship Without Sailors

According to Corriere della Sera, this has created a bizarre situation where the Lega Serie A had to make a warning phone call, as Milan has until June 16 to file the paperwork to register for the new season. Failure to do so could lead to expulsion from the league, though this is usually due to financial documentation not adding up, rather than simply forgetting to file it.

Last week, RedBird patron Cardinale called just five select journalists to explain his vision for the future, which many considered an attempt to gain more positive media coverage. However, it backfired because one of those involved had a harsh warning for the fans.

“If we didn’t go to talk to him, then we wouldn’t know what this guy had in mind,” revealed Sport Mediaset journalist Franco Ordine. “Now we know and I can say the worst is yet to come. They don’t want Italians, because they have to speak English. They don’t need to know Italian football either.

“Seeing as there is hardly any money, because they’re out of the Champions League, I would do something crazy and go hire Alberto Aquilani.”

The coach is fresh from taking Catanzaro to the Serie B promotion play-off final, losing narrowly to Monza.
