Serie B club Cesena has conveyed a series of touching messages and gestures for USMNT goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann after he underwent surgery for a broken neck.
The goalkeeper suffered a severe injury during a recent Serie B match against Palermo, sustaining a heavy collision with Filippo Ranocchia. He was stretchered off wearing a neck brace, and subsequent hospital tests revealed a fracture in the first vertebra of his neck.

The injury necessitated delicate surgery, which has unfortunately ended his current season and ruled him out of contention for the 2026 World Cup hosted in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
During their weekend match, which ended in a 0-0 draw against Sampdoria, Cesena players displayed significant support for their absent goalkeeper. During their warm-up, they wore shirts bearing Klinsmann’s name and kept a Captain America shield, marked with his initials JK, positioned behind their net.
Additionally, the club compiled a video featuring messages from fans intended to reassure the son of former Inter striker Jurgen Klinsmann. One message conveyed, “Hey Jon, your people are waiting for you.”
