Atalanta Targets Bosnia’s Alajbegovic Amidst Roma Interest

According to Sky Sport Italia, Atalanta has expressed interest in the talented Bosnian and Bayer Leverkusen winger, Kerim Alajbegovic. This comes after reports linking the player with a move to Roma.

Alajbegovic has been a standout performer for Bosnia and Herzegovina, playing a key role in their qualification for the 2026 World Cup through the play-offs. He spent the current season on loan at RB Salzburg, where he scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 44 competitive matches.

Following his impressive performances, Bayer Leverkusen exercised their €8 million buy-back option to re-sign the player. However, it is understood that Alajbegovic is unlikely to stay at Leverkusen, as numerous clubs are vying for his signature. The winger will turn 19 in September.

Among the interested clubs are Roma, Napoli, Inter, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City, and Benfica. Now, Sky Sport Italia reports that Atalanta has made Alajbegovic a primary target, and they are prepared to fund the transfer using the anticipated €55 million plus €5 million in add-ons from Chelsea’s potential acquisition of Marco Palestra.

With Maurizio Sarri’s favored 4-3-3 formation, Alajbegovic would be a suitable addition, capable of operating on either the left or right wing of the attacking front three.
