In a tumultuous Derby della Mole that began an hour late due to prior fan confrontations, Torino and Juventus played out a dramatic 2-2 draw. Dusan Vlahovic scored twice for Juventus, but Cesare Casadei and Ché Adams found the net for Torino, securing a comeback draw for the home side.
The match faced a significant delay following altercations between supporters of both clubs. The situation escalated to the point where Juventus ultras threatened pitch invasion, leading to a Juventus fan being hospitalized in critical condition. Following authorities’ decision for the game to proceed, Juventus supporters departed the stadium, leaving their section empty.
Torino started brightly, earning early corners, but it was Juventus who broke the deadlock in the 24th minute. Dusan Vlahovic received a precise pass from Khephren Thuram, controlled the ball in the box, and fired it into the far post.
Moments later, Vlahovic missed a chance to double Juventus’s lead from a Pierre Kalulu cross, heading over the bar. In the second half, Manuel Locatelli came close to extending Juventus’s advantage, his shot from the edge of the area going wide.
However, Vlahovic quickly made amends, scoring his second goal just seconds later to complete a swift counter-attack orchestrated by Francisco Conceição. Vlahovic received the ball inside the box and beat Torino goalkeeper Alberto Paleari with a first-time shot.
Torino’s coach, Roberto D’Aversa, made impactful substitutions that shifted the momentum. Cesare Casadei pulled Torino back into the game with a powerful header from a corner kick, capitalizing on what was described as lacklustre marking by Andrea Cambiaso.
The intensity of the match heightened in the final 20 minutes. Torino’s substitute Alieu Njie had an opportunity, but his shot was saved. Torino then equalized from another corner. Casadei won another aerial duel, and though his header was saved by Mattia Perin, Ché Adams was quickest to react, scoring on the rebound.
Emil Holm had a late chance for Juventus, but his long-range effort was deflected over the crossbar by Paleari.
This draw concluded Juventus’s season in sixth place with 69 points, missing out on Champions League qualification, which was secured by Inter, Napoli, Roma, and Como.
