AS Roma has officially announced their schedule for the upcoming pre-season, which includes an exciting friendly match against Borussia Dortmund and a training camp in Wales. These preparations come at a time of renewed optimism for the Giallorossi, as they have successfully secured a spot in the Champions League, ending a seven-year hiatus from Europe’s premier club competition.
Pre-Season Preparations Underway for Roma
Coach Gian Piero Gasperini is set to have increased influence over the team’s transfer strategy and the overall preparations for the new season. A key aspect of these plans involves strategically choosing training locations to escape the intense summer heat often experienced in Rome. Furthermore, the club is opting to steer clear of lucrative but logistically challenging friendly matches in far-flung locations.
Instead, the team, affectionately known as the Lupi, will undertake the latter part of their pre-season training in Wales. This camp is scheduled to take place from late July to early August. Reports from Tuttomercatoweb suggest that their training base will be the facilities typically used by the Wales national rugby team for their preparations, located in Hensol, a short distance from Cardiff.
In parallel, Borussia Dortmund has confirmed that they will host AS Roma for a friendly encounter at their home ground, the Signal Iduna Park, on August 15th.
