Inter Milan in Fresh Contract Talks with Carlos Augusto

Initially, it was anticipated that Carlos Augusto would depart Inter Milan this summer as his contract neared its conclusion. However, recent reports from multiple sources indicate that new negotiations have commenced with the aim of securing an extension.

The versatile defender was acquired from Monza in 2023 for a fee of €15.25 million. Throughout his tenure, he has proven his adaptability by performing effectively in various positions, including center-back, left-back, and even on the right flank.

With his current contract approaching its expiration, it was widely assumed that he would be moving on at the end of the current season.

Inter Milan Eager to Retain Carlos Augusto

Despite previous assumptions, Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia, and other outlets are reporting that discussions with the club have been reignited to explore the possibility of a new agreement.

While the player had previously expressed a desire for increased playing time, suggesting the situation was far from settled, he now appears more open to remaining at the San Siro.

Carlos Augusto made a significant contribution this season, featuring in 46 competitive matches as Inter Milan secured both the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia. During this successful campaign, he netted two goals and provided two assists.

Within Serie A, Roma and Juventus had previously shown the most significant interest in the player.
