Napoli in Initial Talks with Vlahovic Amidst Interest from Major European Clubs

Dusan Vlahovic’s future at Juventus appears increasingly uncertain, with Napoli initiating preliminary discussions with the striker’s camp. However, the Serbian forward is also on the radar of several other prominent European clubs, including Newcastle United, Atletico Madrid, and Bayern Munich.

The contract of the Juventus striker is set to expire next month, signaling a potential departure from the Allianz Stadium.

Napoli’s Approach to Vlahovic

According to reports, Juventus’s domestic rivals, Napoli, have commenced preliminary talks with Vlahovic’s father. Crucially for the Neapolitan club, they can offer the 26-year-old a place in a team competing in the Champions League next season, a proposition that Juventus currently cannot match.

Similar to Napoli, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are also in a position to offer Champions League football. Newcastle United, while capable of potentially convincing Vlahovic, would likely require a “very inviting economic proposal” to secure his signature, as indicated by reports.

The Magpies finished the 2025-26 Premier League season in 12th place, failing to qualify for European competitions.

Juventus has been in extended negotiations to extend Vlahovic’s contract. However, their offer reportedly includes a pay cut from his current €12 million annual salary. The absence of Champions League football in the 2026-27 season is also expected to hinder Juventus’s efforts in contract negotiations.

“At Christmas, Vlahovic and I shut ourselves in a room, and he assured me he wouldn’t move during the January window. That’s exactly what happened,” Juventus director Damien Comolli recently stated. “We would like to continue with our centre-forward, but it depends on Dusan and his father.”

Napoli is currently in the process of seeking a new head coach, following the departure of Antonio Conte after two seasons at the Stadio Maradona. Among the leading candidates being considered are Vincenzo Italiano and Massimiliano Allegri, both of whom have previously managed Vlahovic at Fiorentina and Juventus, respectively.

Vlahovic enjoyed a prolific spell under Italiano at Fiorentina, scoring 20 goals in 24 appearances. He went on to net 41 goals in 99 games for Juventus under Allegri.
