Andreas Schjelderup, a highly sought-after young attacker in European football, has attracted significant interest from AC Milan and Como. This comes after his impressive performances for Norway in the World Cup, adding to the existing attention from clubs like Liverpool, Tottenham, and Atletico Madrid, all of whom are monitoring the 22-year-old Benfica winger.
According to reports, Benfica has placed a valuation of approximately €30 million on Schjelderup. This figure is double what Club Brugge were prepared to offer in January. His standout performance, including a match-winning brace against Real Madrid, prompted José Mourinho to secure him amidst intense transfer speculation.
Parma also expressed strong interest during the winter transfer window. The club’s CEO, Federico Cherubini, admitted that while they came close to a deal, they ultimately failed to finalize the transfer.
Schjelderup’s World Cup Form Intensifies Serie A Transfer Interest, Barcelona Also Linked
Schjelderup, a left-footed winger who is versatile on both flanks, demonstrated his attacking prowess last season for Benfica. He contributed 10 goals and seven assists in 43 appearances across all competitions, performances that have garnered widespread attention from top clubs.
His participation in the World Cup has further elevated his profile. He played a crucial role in Norway’s 3-2 victory over Senegal, helping them advance to the Round of 16.
Barcelona has also been linked with Schjelderup as a potential successor to Marcus Rashford. When questioned about these rumors, Schjelderup remained measured, stating, “It would be fantastic if those rumors were true, but at the moment I don’t know anything concrete.” With his value rapidly increasing and a growing list of potential suitors, Benfica is well-positioned to negotiate favorable terms when serious discussions commence.
