According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus is unwilling to meet Aston Villa’s asking price of €10 million plus add-ons for goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
The Italian club views the Argentina international as their ideal goalkeeper signing, having faced inconsistencies with Michele Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin this season.
Despite Martinez’s reported openness to a move to Serie A and even Juventus, irrespective of their Champions League qualification status, the primary obstacle lies with Aston Villa’s valuation. Juventus considers the price excessive for a player who will turn 34 in September.
Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia states that the Premier League club’s valuation stands at €10 million plus potential add-ons. Juventus remains interested in Martinez but is hesitant to spend such a sum, especially considering his reported salary demands of €5 million per season and the missed revenue from Champions League participation.
The World Cup winner, who joined Aston Villa from Arsenal in 2020 for €17.4 million, has primarily played in England throughout his career, with a brief loan spell at Getafe in Spain during the 2017-18 season.
