Juventus Could Turn to EURO 2020 Winner After Missing Out on Liverpool’s Robertson

Reports on Sunday suggest that Juventus might consider signing Emerson Palmieri, a member of Italy’s EURO 2020 winning squad, to enhance their full-back options. This comes after their efforts to acquire Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson were unsuccessful.

Could Juventus Reunited Spalletti with Emerson?

Juventus aims to build a squad capable of contending for the Scudetto in the 2026-27 season. However, their financial resources have been impacted by failing to qualify for the Champions League in the final two weeks of the 2025-26 season.

Liverpool’s left-back, Robertson, was a potential target for Juventus as he was available on a free transfer. However, due to Juventus’s inability to secure Champions League qualification and Tottenham Hotspur’s successful Premier League season, the Scotland international is now expected to join the North London club.

According to updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus may now turn their attention to Emerson. The Brazilian-born Italian international is familiar to manager Luciano Spalletti from their time together at Roma.

The left-back position at Juventus could undergo significant changes this summer. Reports indicate that Andrea Cambiaso might be sold to generate funds for new signings. Filip Kostic’s contract is also nearing expiration, and Juan Cabal could also be allowed to depart.

Consequently, Juventus is reportedly monitoring the 31-year-old Emerson. He has been playing in Ligue 1 with Marseille during the 2025-26 season, featuring in 28 league matches and a total of 37 across all competitions.
