Inter Duo Bisseck and Lautaro Martinez Nearing Return from Injury

Inter Milan will be without both Yann Bisseck and Lautaro Martinez for their upcoming Serie A match against Cagliari. Neither player has recovered sufficiently from their current injuries to be available for selection.

Yann Bisseck has not yet rejoined full group training after sustaining a muscle strain that has kept him sidelined since the international break. Reports suggest the German defender is aiming to return for either the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Como on Wednesday or the league fixture against Torino the following Sunday.

Inter captain Lautaro Martinez is not rushing his comeback for the Cagliari game. Instead, he has set his sights on the Torino match on Sunday, April 26th, as his target return date. This latest setback means the Argentine striker will have missed a significant portion of the club’s 2026 fixtures, having previously been out with a soleus muscle injury sustained in February.

With six league games remaining and a nine-point advantage at the top of the table, manager Cristian Chivu has some flexibility to manage the players’ return to full fitness. However, the sooner Lautaro is back on the field, the better positioned Inter will be to maintain their lead and secure the Scudetto.
