Thuram Praises Inter's Resilience and Bonny's Impact After Udinese Thriller
Marcus Thuram stated that Inter's comeback wins demonstrate their capacity as a team to "know how to react." He also acknowledged the valuable contributions of substitutes like Ange-Yoan Bonny following their 5-3 victory against Udinese.
The match echoed Inter's past reputation for dramatic turnarounds. For the second consecutive league game, Inter trailed by two goals at home before securing a win.
Following their 3-2 win against Napoli, Inter overcame Udinese with an eight-goal thriller. Carlos Augusto, Nicolò Barella, Marcus Thuram, Francesco Pio Esposito, and Ange-Yoan Bonny all scored to seal the victory.
Thuram and Bonny on Inter's Team Spirit
“We don’t need to be rattled. We’ve played many matches, sometimes our approach isn’t right, but we’ve shown we are a team that knows how to react,” Thuram told Sky Sport Italia. “We understand a game lasts over 90 minutes. There was still plenty of time left to turn it around, and that’s what we did.”
Inter faces Roma next in a top-of-the-table clash. Both teams have a perfect record after four rounds.
“We have 19 rivals to get results against this season, and Roma is one of them. We need to go there and do what’s necessary.”
Bonny came off the bench to score, and Thuram offered particular praise for his teammate. “This is his second season here, he played in the World Cup too, so he has more experience now. He always works hard and contributes. I believe he is one of the best players in Serie A,” Thuram commented.
A slow start to the game might be linked to a midweek Champions League loss to Real Madrid. Inter also fell behind by two goals in that match.
“Like last season, we aren’t just 11 players, but a whole squad ready to perform when needed,” Bonny responded. “Roma is a strong team; it will be a tough match. Our objectives remain the same: to win.”
