John Stones Linked to Serie A Giants: Juventus, Inter, and Milan Interested But Hesitant
According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, English international John Stones has been presented as an option to three of Italy's most prestigious football clubs: Juventus, Inter, and Milan. However, all three potential suitors are reportedly exercising caution due to concerns regarding the 32-year-old's salary expectations and his history of injuries.
Stones is currently a free agent, having concluded his decade-long tenure with Manchester City at the end of his contract on June 30. During his time under Pep Guardiola, he was an integral part of a team that secured numerous titles, including six Premier League crowns, three FA Cups, three EFL Cups, and the coveted 2022-23 Champions League.
Recent weeks have seen widespread speculation connecting the former Manchester City and Everton defender with a move to Serie A, with Juventus and Inter prominently mentioned as strong contenders.
In a recent update on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano corroborated these reports, stating that Stones "has been offered to all of the biggest Italian teams: He’s on the market and has left City for nothing."
Romano elaborated, "He has big economic demands: He was offered to Inter last March, but that has not particularly heated up. He has been proposed to Inter and Juventus again in recent days."
The transfer specialist further highlighted that the major Italian clubs harbor reservations about Stones's fitness. While his most prolific season at City was his debut in 2016-17 with 27 Premier League appearances, his league game average over the last five seasons has been a modest 14.6.
