Como's director of sport, Carlalberto Ludi, has confirmed that they are "at an advanced stage" in negotiations for Mattia Liberali. He also referred to Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah as a "very strong player" ahead of a potential new €35 million bid.

Having recently been in Serie B, Como is now preparing for the Champions League following an impressive fourth-place finish in Serie A and a Coppa Italia semi-final appearance.

The club is making significant investments in its squad to provide coach Cesc Fabregas with the necessary resources. This strategy also involves signing more Italian players to comply with league regulations.

Como Prepares for Potential Liberali and Chalobah Arrivals

Speaking at a charity event, Como's director of sport, Ludi, informed Sky Sport Italia about the €6 million deal for Catanzaro midfielder Liberali.

"We are at a pretty advanced stage for Liberali. We want to sign him; he is an Italian talent, and we are pursuing him because we believe he possesses the ideal characteristics to fit Cesc's style of football."

Reports suggest that despite Milan offering Liberali higher wages, he has chosen to prioritize the opportunity to work under Fabregas at Como.

The club is also in contention with Inter for Chelsea defender Chalobah. While the initial two proposals were rejected, Como is expected to increase their offer to €30 million plus €5 million in add-ons next week.

"Chalobah is a very strong player," was Ludi's sole comment on the matter.

Although not a new signing, Nico Paz was permanently acquired from Real Madrid for €60 million after his two-year loan spell. However, the Spanish club retains an option to buy him back for €80 million next summer.

"It is not to be taken for granted that a coach like Fabregas and a player like Nico Paz wish to stay at Como, which makes us very proud. We are not yet ready for the Champions League, but we will roll up our sleeves to ensure we are prepared when the time comes."
