AC Milan’s star player Rafael Leao faced another round of boos from his own supporters on Sunday when he was substituted during a home game against Juventus.
The same incident occurred two weeks prior, during the previous home fixture against Udinese, which resulted in a 3-0 loss for the Rossoneri.
In the current match against Juventus, Leao was replaced by Christopher Nkunku in the 80th minute. As he left the field from the far side, a significant portion of the Rossoneri faithful showed no leniency, whistling him off.
Leao walked the length of the pitch to reach the Milan bench, where coach Massimiliano Allegri offered him a high-five and words of encouragement, saying, “Well done.”
Leao has not found the back of the net in Serie A since March 1st. However, he did provide an assist for Adrien Rabiot’s winning goal against Hellas Verona last week and also delivered a crucial pass against Juventus, which led to Alexis Saelemaekers hitting the crossbar from a promising position.
