Riccardo Calafiori Out of Arsenal vs. Sporting Champions League Clash

Italy international Riccardo Calafiori has been omitted from both the starting lineup and the substitute bench for Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Sporting on Wednesday night.

Arsenal secured a narrow 1-0 victory in the first leg in Portugal and are widely expected to advance to the next round at the Emirates Stadium.

Calafiori, however, will not feature in this crucial match, having also missed Arsenal’s recent 2-1 home defeat against Bournemouth on Saturday.

While the exact nature of the Italian defender’s condition remains undisclosed, it is not believed to be serious, and he might be available for Arsenal’s significant fixture against Manchester City later in the week.
