Mourinho and Bernardo Silva’s Arrivals Could Open Doors for Nico Paz at Como or Inter

Nico Paz is currently at a crossroads, with Como, Inter, and Real Madrid all vying for his future. However, recent reports suggest that the Argentine international might remain in Serie A next season following the expected arrivals of Jose Mourinho and Bernardo Silva at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Could Bernardo Silva’s Arrival Free Up Nico Paz for Como or Inter?

Nico Paz has spent the last two seasons as a standout player for Como under Cesc Fabregas, earning the Serie A U23 Player of the Season award for 2025-26. He joined Como for a reported €6 million in 2024, with Real Madrid retaining a 50% sell-on clause and buy-back options set at €8 million (2025), €9 million (2026), and €10 million (2027).

Throughout the 2025-26 season, speculation grew that Real Madrid had decided to buy Paz back this summer. Meanwhile, Como is keen to keep their star player for their inaugural Champions League campaign, and Serie A champions Inter are also reportedly interested in a deal with Real Madrid.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the imminent official arrival of Jose Mourinho in Madrid and the completion of Bernardo Silva’s free transfer will necessitate difficult decisions regarding Real Madrid’s crowded attacking lineup. With talents like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, Arda Guler, Franco Mastantuono, Brahim Diaz, Endrick, and potentially Bernardo Silva, Paz’s place in the squad is uncertain.

Pedullà reports that Paz’s return to Madrid is no longer guaranteed, and Como is still working to secure an arrangement to keep him at the Stadio Sinigaglia. Concurrently, Corriere dello Sport and Calciomercato.com indicate that Inter may also engage with Real Madrid representatives, particularly during the upcoming “legends” match between the two clubs at the Bernabeu.

Inter and Real Madrid have maintained close contact recently, with Denzel Dumfries expected to move to the Spanish capital after his release clause was activated.
