Italian media outlets, including Gazzetta dello Sport, report that Nasca, Di Vuolo, and Paterna are suspected of providing false information to prosecutors. Daniele Paterna, in particular, was reportedly seen in a video that appeared to show an individual outside the VAR room offering guidance to officials, a clear breach of protocol. Investigators are looking into claims that VAR officials may have been influenced by external parties, potentially through coded messages, which could compromise their independent judgment.
Gianluca Rocchi and Andrea Gervasoni are scheduled to be heard by the Milan Prosecutor on April 30. Rocchi’s lawyer, Antonio D’Avirro, has expressed that his client feels he is the victim of an injustice. D’Avirro stated that Rocchi is demoralized by the accusations, which he considers unfounded, and emphasized Rocchi’s consistent commitment to acting with loyalty and transparency. Rocchi has voluntarily suspended himself from his duties pending the investigation into alleged involvement in sports fraud. D’Avirro also noted that while the investigation refers to other individuals, only Rocchi has been formally named in the notice of investigation, distinguishing this situation from the broader “Calciopoli” scandal.
