Juventus’s Offer for Lewandowski Significantly Lower Than MLS Options, Report Claims

Reports emerging from Italy indicate that Juventus is prepared to offer Robert Lewandowski a salary exceeding €6 million per season to secure his signature on a free transfer once his contract with Barcelona concludes. However, it is understood that clubs in Major League Soccer (MLS) are willing to offer more than triple that amount for the veteran Polish striker.

Lewandowski is currently in the final months of his contract with Barcelona, a club he joined in a €45 million deal from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022. Despite turning 38 in August, several Serie A clubs, including Juventus and Milan, are reportedly not deterred by his age, citing the continued success of players like Luka Modric, who is performing at a high level at the age of 40.

As Lewandowski approaches free agency, he has a diverse range of potential destinations. These include the aforementioned Serie A clubs, various teams in Turkey, and possible moves to Saudi Arabia and the United States.

According to information from Tuttosport, Lewandowski’s preference would be to continue playing for a ‘top’ European club, which could give Juventus an advantage in their pursuit.

Tuttosport further claims that Juventus is offering Lewandowski a contract valued at €6 million per season, exclusive of any potential bonuses. However, a report from Wednesday suggests that MLS side Chicago Fire is prepared to offer approximately €20 million per season to persuade Lewandowski to relocate to the United States.
