Four Additional Players to Train with Italy Squad Under Baldini

Silvio Baldini, the interim coach of the Italian national football team, has announced a 24-player squad for the friendly matches scheduled for June against Luxembourg and Greece. In addition to this squad, four other players will be joining the Azzurri for training sessions at Coverciano in the coming days.

These international friendlies, set to take place on June 3 against Luxembourg and June 7 against Greece, represent the final games of the season for the Italian team, which did not secure a place in the 2026 World Cup.

Baldini has selected a squad of 24 players, with 19 of them receiving their first call-up to the senior national team. The Italian Football Federation confirmed that these four additional players will join the squad at Coverciano to prepare for the upcoming matches.

The players invited for this training period are Tommaso Berti (Cesena), Niccolò Fortini (Fiorentina), Gabriele Guarino (Empoli), and Dominic Vavassori (Atalanta). They are scheduled to train with the rest of the team from Thursday, May 28, to Sunday, May 31.

The Italian players are expected to arrive at Coverciano on May 28 to commence their preparations for the forthcoming friendly fixtures.

Italy’s last participation in a World Cup was in 2014, held in Brazil.
