Representatives from all twenty Serie A clubs convened at the league headquarters in Milan to deliberate on various pressing issues. President Ezio Simonelli introduced the plans for this new ethical framework, which will apply comprehensively to all associated individuals, including players, coaches, directors, and staff members.
Key Ideas for the Serie A Code of Ethics
While still in its initial planning phases, reports suggest the code aims to introduce specific fines for all violations, rather than leaving all decisions to the disciplinary commission. A central focus will be combating simulation on the pitch, particularly highlighted by the recent controversy involving Alessandro Bastoni and Pierre Kalulu during the Inter vs. Juventus match.
Another area targeted for stricter enforcement includes insulting or damaging statements made during post-match interviews.
