Roma's Improved Offer for Givairo Read Rejected by Feyenoord
Roma has not yet reached an agreement with Feyenoord for the transfer of Givairo Read, as reports indicate that their latest offer of €28 million plus bonuses was declined. Despite this setback, discussions between the clubs are expected to persist.
The Italian club had hoped that their most recent proposal, which included an initial €28 million fee and a 10% share of any future sell-on fee, would be sufficient to secure the player's signature. However, both Voetbal International and Sky Sport Italia have confirmed that Feyenoord has rejected this proposal.
Feyenoord's Valuation Stands at €30 Million
Feyenoord's asking price for Read remains firm at €30 million. The Dutch club is confident that they can achieve this valuation, especially with interest also being shown by Nottingham Forest.
Roma is determined to complete the transfer and plans to continue negotiations, focusing on details such as commission fees and various performance-related bonuses that could increase the overall package.
Givairo Read has reportedly already agreed to personal terms with the Serie A club and is keen to join Gian Piero Gasperini's squad, which will be competing in the Champions League. The right-back, who turned 20 in June, is also capable of playing on the left side when needed. Last season, he contributed two goals and three assists in 20 competitive appearances for Feyenoord.
Roma's initial bid for the player was €25 million, meaning the latest offer represented an improvement. However, it was ultimately not enough to meet Feyenoord's demands.
