According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma has once again adjusted the financial framework for their proposed acquisition of Rodrigo Mora from FC Porto. The latest proposal involves a loan fee of €7 million, with an option to purchase the player outright for an additional €43 million. This option can convert into a mandatory purchase under specific conditions.

Mora is reportedly keen to secure a move to a club where he can be a regular starter. Having emerged from the Porto youth academy, his playing style is not seen as an ideal fit for coach Francesco Farioli's system. The primary challenge in finalizing the deal lies in agreeing upon a payment structure and timeline for the total €50 million valuation that satisfies all parties involved.

Evolving Deal Structure for Mora's Potential Roma Transfer

Previously, reports indicated that an agreement was close for €25 million, covering 50% of the player's rights, with an option to acquire the remaining share at the end of the season for another €25 million. However, the latest information from Sky Sport Italia suggests a departure from this approach.

Under the new terms, Roma would pay €7 million for a one-season loan of Mora, followed by an option to buy him for €43 million in June 2027. This purchase option could become an obligation if certain performance criteria are met, such as the team achieving European qualification or Mora reaching a specific number of appearances.

This revised structure would allow Roma to avoid committing to a significant upfront expense without certainty of a permanent transfer. The key sticking point remains the assurance both clubs seek regarding the financial arrangements for the potential transfer next summer.

Additionally, the agreement would likely preclude FC Porto from including a buy-back clause.
