Pazzini Hails Allegri's Derby Wins: 'No Surprise He Won Both Derbies'
Giampaolo Pazzini has praised Massimiliano Allegri's meticulous tactical preparation following AC Milan's recent derby triumph over Inter. Despite Milan narrowing the gap to seven points, the former striker insists that the Serie A title remains firmly within Inter's control.
Pazzini, who spent three seasons at San Siro between 2012 and 2015, shared his insights after a result that has reignited the Serie A campaign, which many had considered all but decided.
Allegri himself maintained his characteristic modesty in his post-match assessment, describing the win simply as "one fewer victory needed to secure Champions League qualification." However, supporters might be forgiven for nurturing hopes of something more significant.
Pazzini Commends Allegri's Strategic Preparation in Milan Derby Victories
Pazzini was generous in his praise for both teams. Regarding Inter's defeat, he acknowledged that Cristian Chivu had faced tactical challenges, a point the Inter coach himself conceded in his post-match press conference.
"Inter’s last defeat before this one was also in the derby against Milan, after which they went on an impressive run of 14 wins and one draw," Pazzini noted. "There is no doubt Chivu misjudged the game."
However, the sharper focus of his analysis was reserved for Allegri.
"You have to credit Milan; Allegri prepares matches flawlessly," he stated. "It is entirely unsurprising that he has won both derbies this season."
On the topic of the title race, Pazzini was unequivocal. With Inter no longer competing in the Champions League and thus able to dedicate their full attention to the league, he believes recovering a seven-point deficit over the remaining ten matches would demand something truly extraordinary.
"I think the Scudetto conversation is still closed," he declared plainly.
