Paul Pogba's AS Monaco Contract Terminated Due to Injury, Potentially Ending Career

Reports indicate that Paul Pogba, a former standout for Juventus, is on the verge of becoming a free agent once more. AS Monaco is rumored to have decided on terminating his contract following yet another injury.

It remains uncertain whether the 33-year-old player intends to continue his football career or retire.

Pogba joined Monaco last summer as a free agent, signing a contract until June 2027. However, his tenure with the club has been brief, with only six competitive appearances and a total of 115 minutes played.

Pogba's Career in Doubt

According to French media outlets including L’Equipe, Le Parisien, and Nice-Matin, Pogba sustained another muscular injury during pre-season training. This has reportedly led Monaco to conclude his time with the club is over.

He participated in only one friendly match this summer, playing 45 minutes on July 18.

This situation marks a significant downturn for Pogba, who was once the world's most expensive player when Juventus sold him to Manchester United for €105 million in 2016.

The French international returned to Turin as a free agent in 2022, but his second stint with Juventus was marred by injuries and a doping ban, which was later reduced on appeal. He was permitted to return to football in March 2025, but his contract with Juventus had already been mutually terminated in December 2024.

During his career, Pogba made 190 appearances for Juventus, scoring 34 goals and providing 40 assists. He also played 233 games for Manchester United.
