Juventus reportedly makes strongest offer for Matias Galarza
Juventus has reportedly made the most compelling offer for River Plate and Paraguayan international midfielder Matias Galarza, as indicated by his agent.
The 24-year-old midfielder has a diverse playing history, having represented clubs in Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina, and the USA, including a recent loan spell with Atlanta United. His contract with River Plate extends until December 2028, but he is not currently training with the club following his loan. Galarza is keen to embark on a new chapter in European football.
Galarza eager for European football
His agent, Regis Marques, speaking to Rock & Pop in Paraguay, commented on Galarza's recent World Cup performance: "He had a great World Cup and it's a shame, because I think River Plate were wrong in excluding him from the squad."
Marques further elaborated on the player's transfer prospects: "My job is to get the best deal for him now. We have three or four proposals that we are examining. We’ll make a decision closer to the end of the transfer window." He added, "I can say that the strongest offer we have is from Europe, and specifically from Italy. He wants to go to Europe and is asking for a significant salary improvement, which is only fair after such a good World Cup."
According to TyC Sports, Juventus is the club receiving the most consideration from Galarza. While there is also reported interest from Sunderland, a move to Juventus would be a more significant step for the player.
Galarza has earned 19 senior caps for Paraguay, scoring four goals and providing two assists, including the decisive goal against Turkiye during the group stage of the recent tournament. He was a key player for Paraguay in the World Cup, starting all but one of their matches and contributing to their progression to the Round of 16, which included an elimination of Germany.
