Italy Defeats Turkiye 3-1 in Nations League
Italy concluded their international break with a 3-1 win against Turkiye in the Nations League. Goals from Gianluca Scamacca, Riccardo Calafiori, and Pio Esposito secured the victory for the Azzurri.
This match marked the fourth game in 11 days for Italy, following a loss to Belgium, a 4-1 win in Turkiye, and a 1-1 draw with France.
Scamacca opened the scoring, netting his first international goal in three years with a volley that hit the underside of the crossbar. Italy's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made several crucial saves before Aral Simsir equalized for Turkiye with a well-executed team play.
However, defender Riccardo Calafiori, a substitute, scored his first senior goal for Italy. Fellow substitute Pio Esposito then sealed the win, marking his second goal in the current Nations League group stage.
With France defeating Belgium in their match, this result placed Roberto Mancini's Italy team in second place in Group A1.
