Italian Sports Minister Sees No Issue in Azzurri's Bosnia Celebration: "Move On"
Italy's Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, believes that the controversy surrounding the Azzurri's celebration of Bosnia's victory over Wales has been overstated, stating: "There doesn't seem to be anything provocative."

The incident occurred on Thursday night when a group of Italian players was briefly seen on camera celebrating Bosnia and Herzegovina's penalty shootout triumph against Wales in the World Cup play-off semifinal. This win set up a final match between Bosnia and Italy, as the Azzurri had secured their spot by defeating Northern Ireland 2-0 in Bergamo.
The Italian players' brief celebration garnered some negative attention from fans on social media. Reports from Gazzetta even suggested that one of the involved players, Federico Dimarco, felt compelled to text his former Inter teammate and Bosnia captain Edin Dzeko regarding the matter.
However, Minister Abodi came to the defense of the Azzurri, asserting that the players had no intention to provoke or disrespect their upcoming opponents.
"It doesn't appear to me that there was excessive enthusiasm," Abodi told Gazzetta. "I'm unsure what they were thinking at that moment. I fail to grasp why this celebration has been given so much significance. We are talking about individuals who had just completed a match, and there seems to be nothing provocative about it. Let us try to move forward. We already face numerous objectively complex issues, and this particular controversy is senseless."
The Italian team has since returned to Florence to prepare for the crucial World Cup play-off Final, scheduled to take place at the Bilino Polje Stadium in Zenica on Tuesday, March 31.
