Inter Milan Reportedly Prepares Improved Offer for Moussa Diaby, Competing with Bayer Leverkusen
According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter Milan is preparing to submit a more substantial bid to Al-Ittihad for Moussa Diaby. The proposed offer is reportedly valued at over €20 million plus the inclusion of Kristjan Asllani. This move comes as the winger expresses reservations about a potential transfer to Bayer Leverkusen.
The French international, who primarily plays on the right wing, is being considered as a suitable successor to Denzel Dumfries, who departed for Real Madrid this summer upon activation of his release clause.
Inter Milan Remains in Pursuit of Diaby
The 27-year-old France international joined Al-Ittihad in 2024. Reports have indicated that Bayer Leverkusen was close to finalizing a transfer fee with his current club, believed to be under €30 million.
However, Sky Sport Italia suggests that Diaby is hesitant about returning to Germany. He appears more attracted to the prospect of embarking on a new adventure with Inter Milan.
The primary challenge for Inter lies in meeting Al-Ittihad's valuation and covering Diaby's salary of €6 million per season. The player, however, is reportedly willing to accept a pay cut to facilitate a return to European football.
An initial offer, comprising €20 million and Albanian international Asllani, was reportedly rejected. Nevertheless, Inter is expected to present a renewed and enhanced offer within the coming hours.
It's worth noting that Italian football is not entirely unfamiliar territory for Diaby, as he had a brief stint with Crotone back in 2018.
