Borussia Mönchengladbach is reportedly at the forefront of clubs vying for Karlsruher SC full-back David Herold this summer. The 23-year-old defender is widely expected to transition from the Baden-Württemberg club to the Bundesliga next season, with his release clause estimated to be a manageable €3.5-4 million, making him an attractive and affordable option for many German top-flight teams.

While several clubs have made inquiries, reports indicate that Gladbach's interest in Herold is the most substantial. The versatile player, standing at 1.85 meters, brings a valuable skill set, having appeared 28 times in the 2. Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, registering one assist in each competition. A product of the Bayern Munich youth academy, Herold's adaptability allows him to cover not only at left-back but also at centre-back and left midfield.

His potential arrival could also directly address the void left by Luca Netz, who transferred to Nottingham Forest in early February, providing Gladbach with a timely and promising replacement.
