Dusan Vlahovic's Evolving Situation Amidst Juventus Contract Discussions
Juventus remains hopeful of securing a contract extension for Dusan Vlahovic. As negotiations progress, La Gazzetta dello Sport has highlighted a significant shift in the Serbian striker's overall situation.
The club's primary goal is to persuade Vlahovic to commit his future to the team. With his current deal expiring in June, talks between the player and the club have reportedly resumed in recent weeks, characterized by a more positive atmosphere compared to last year's discussions.
Vlahovic's current earnings are €12 million annually, including bonuses, during his final year with Juventus. However, as the Bianconeri aim to reduce their wage expenses, Gazzetta reports their revised offer stands at €7 million (including add-ons) for a new short-term contract valid until June 2027 or 2028.
Although Barcelona and Bayern Munich previously expressed interest in the striker, neither club has submitted a formal offer.
Gazzetta also emphasizes another key development surrounding Vlahovic that could benefit Juventus in these ongoing talks. This change is notably attributed to the increased involvement of Dusan's father, Milos, who is now actively participating in discussions, both formal and informal, regarding his son's future.
This marks a departure from last summer's transfer window, where the rigid stance of Vlahovic's representatives reportedly created friction and hindered progress in negotiations.
Reports suggest Vlahovic is receptive to signing a new deal with the Old Lady, having maintained strong connections with his teammates despite being sidelined by injury.
The Serbian international has been unavailable since December, recovering from an adductor injury that necessitated surgery. He recently rejoined team training this week and is anticipated to be named among the substitutes for Saturday's match against Udinese.
