Cristian Chivu has indicated that Inter Milan still requires an additional winger or wing-back before the summer transfer window concludes. He also expressed his contentment with the team's performance and the absence of injuries following their pre-season friendly victory over Manchester City.

Chivu Discusses Inter's Transfer Needs and Manchester City Victory

During their summer tour, the Nerazzurri stopped in Hong Kong on their way to Australia. They defeated Manchester City on penalties after a 1-1 draw, with goals scored by Divin Mubama and Benjamin Pavard.

Speaking to the media post-match, Chivu emphasized that the most crucial aspect was that his players emerged from the match without any injuries. However, he acknowledged the team's need for at least one more player in the wide attacking positions.

"If you count, you'll arrive at the same conclusion as us," Chivu told reporters after the game against Man City. "It depends on your perspective. Perhaps we are short one on the left. We currently have three wingers, or rather three and a half, as Carlos (Augusto) can also play there. And depending on how we view Luis Henrique, who can play on either the right or left, we are still missing one. There is still a considerable amount of time left in the transfer window, so we need to be patient and make wise choices."

When questioned about the match against Manchester City, Chivu responded: "I am happy that no one got injured; that is the most important thing in friendlies. We arrived just two days ago, and although we had a light training session yesterday, the players displayed the pride of great champions. They had an excellent first half, demonstrating good game understanding despite not being in peak condition."

Regarding his expectations for the remainder of the pre-season tour, Chivu stated: "We aim to train well and continue to improve. Matches are the best form of training. We must strive to stay healthy and avoid any injuries. That is the primary objective throughout August, given all the extensive travel."

On the subject of the young players who participated in the Manchester City test, Chivu commented: "They can and must perform even better, just like everyone else. They are beginning to get a taste of top-level football, but they must always remember there is room for improvement. One must always start from there, with the right attitude. Some patience is also needed, as their lack of experience is still evident at times. They are doing a commendable job and contributing positively."
