Italian club Bologna is reportedly showing renewed interest in Napoli striker Lorenzo Lucca. Lucca is set to return to the Stadio Maradona following a six-month loan spell with Nottingham Forest, where his performance has been underwhelming.
Bologna Reignites Pursuit of Lucca for Future Season
According to Italian sports reports, the Rossoblu have rekindled their pursuit of the Italian forward. Bologna previously made attempts to sign the former Udinese striker both four years ago and again during the recent January transfer window.
In 2022, Lucca opted to move to Ajax from Pisa, even though Bologna had also submitted an offer from the Stadio Dall’Ara. More recently, last January, Nottingham Forest secured his loan from Napoli with a more compelling proposal.
Sources suggest that Bologna plans to consider offers for Thijs Dallinga next summer, identifying Lucca as a potential successor for the Dutch player.
Since joining Nottingham Forest on loan in January, Lucca has managed just one goal in seven appearances, echoing his earlier struggles.
He registered the same solitary goal in 23 matches for Napoli earlier in the campaign, highlighting a consistent lack of goal-scoring form.
While Lucca's long-term future at Nottingham Forest is unclear, prior reports indicated that the Premier League club is unlikely to make his loan move permanent once the season concludes, paving the way for Bologna's renewed interest.
