Bisseck: Stones' Arrival Will Elevate Inter's Defensive Standards
Yann Bisseck has expressed enthusiasm for John Stones joining Inter, asserting that the England defender's presence will inspire the entire backline to perform at a higher level, rather than jeopardizing his own position.
Speaking with quotes from La Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, the German international, who recently extended his contract until 2031, embraced the increased competition expected during what is anticipated to be a busy summer for defensive reinforcements at San Siro.
“It’s as it should be. We are Inter, not just any club,” Bisseck stated. “It’s natural for a squad like ours to be packed with talented players, and internal competition prevents complacency.”
Bisseck believes Stones will enhance Inter’s defensive capabilities
Bisseck emphasized the significance of the new recruit’s caliber. “When a high-profile player joins the dressing room, it’s always a positive development,” he remarked.
“Stones will motivate the other defenders to improve their game, which in turn will lead to better team performance.” When questioned about the potential for increased time on the bench, the center-back remained unconcerned. “I don’t see it as an issue. There are many matches and numerous competitions; there will be opportunities for everyone. I’m not worried at all.”
Regarding his own contract extension, Bisseck conveyed his contentment, downplaying the impact of new terms at a club he never intended to leave.
“The extension is positive news, but it doesn’t alter my feelings about playing for this team,” he commented. “I chose Inter because I was drawn to the club and the city, and I never considered moving elsewhere. The club has always shown me trust.”
