Atalanta is reportedly on the verge of selling defender Berat Djimsiti to Al-Diriyah, prompting the club to explore potential replacements. Among the names being considered are Jean-Clair Todibo of West Ham, Lazio's Alessio Romagnoli, and Udinese's Thomas Kristensen.
Multiple reports suggest that Djimsiti has initiated a transfer request after receiving a substantial two-year contract offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Diriyah. The proposed transfer fee of approximately €3 million is believed to be acceptable to Atalanta.
Atalanta's Defensive Search
Talks between Atalanta and West Ham United for Jean-Clair Todibo are already underway, with the French defender being a primary target. However, it is understood that Todibo might only be available for a loan move with an option to buy at the conclusion of the season.
Another intriguing prospect is Alessio Romagnoli. The defender previously worked under Maurizio Sarri at Lazio and appears unwilling to continue at the Stadio Olimpico. Earlier negotiations for Romagnoli to join Al-Sadd in Qatar have encountered setbacks and have reportedly broken down again, following previous obstacles encountered in January.
Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has also highlighted Thomas Kristensen of Udinese as a potential alternative for Atalanta. The Udinese defender was previously on the radar of Atalanta's new sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, during Giuntoli's tenure at Juventus.
