Former Italy internationals Ciro Ferrara and Emanuele Giaccherini have expressed divergent views regarding Antonio Conte’s ongoing tenure at Napoli. While Ferrara, a former defender, believes Conte will continue with the club, Giaccherini, an ex-winger, anticipates his departure.
Despite Antonio Conte being contracted with Napoli until June 2027, his future with the club remains a subject of speculation. The Italian manager has successfully guided the Partenopei to Champions League qualification with a game to spare. However, his post-match comments on Sunday hinted at uncertainty about his long-term commitment, suggesting he has already made a decision regarding his next steps.
“I was listening carefully, but I have a different feeling. I believe he will stay at Napoli,” stated Ferrara in a conversation with DAZN. Ferrara, who shares a history with Conte from their time together at Juventus, is a close friend of the current Napoli manager.
Conversely, Giaccherini, who played under Conte for both Juventus and the Italian national team, holds a contrasting perspective. “I think he will leave. I’m not sure; he seemed a bit worn out,” Giaccherini commented.
Napoli appointed Conte in the summer of 2024, and under his leadership, the team has secured one Serie A title and one Supercoppa Italiana over the past two seasons.
